314,739. Lees & Co., Ltd., A., and Clegg, J. W. Oct. 17, 1928. Combing-machines.-In a Nasmith combing- machine in which the top comb is mounted independently of the nipper frame, the top comb 15 is supported by links 13 from a shaft 9 and by a bracket 19, carried by the nipper bracket 11, with which engages an adjustable, bowl 16 on the comb arm 14. The shaft 9 is rocked to give to-and-fro motion to the comb by links 22, 23 connected to a rearward extension of the usual crank arm 24, which is operated by a cam on the comb cylinder shaft 6. The up-and-down motion of the comb is derived from the shape of the surface of the bracket 19.
