Abstract

231,591. Hetherington & Sons, Ltd., J., and Horridge, J. Jan. 5, 1024. Combing.-machines.-In a machine for combing cotton &c. in which the top comb arm 1 is pivotally mounted upon the swinging frame 2, the lifting of the arm 1 is secured by means of a bell-crank lever 3 pivoted on the frame 2 and adapted to engage an adjustable projection 1<b> on the arm 1. The arm 3<c> of the bell-cranklever carries a bowl 4 adapted to engage, as the frame 2 swings backwards, an adjustable stop 6, thereby tilting the lever 3 and lifting the arm 1. The amount of the lift is regulated by adjusting the screw 1<b>, and the time at which the lift occurs is regulated by adjusting the stop 6.
