Combing-machines.-In a Heilmann combing- machine of the kind described in Specification 133,683, and having means for rocking the pendulum arm 12 of the kind described in Specification 174,091 the movement of the top comb 48 is obtained from the arms 32, to which are also connected the nipper frames, which arms are rocked by bowls 37 on arms on the shaft 13. A link 140 connects the arm 32 and an arm 141 loose on a shaft 142. A plate 144 is secured to the shaft 142 and the arm 141 is adjusted relatively to it and clamped in position by screws 146 engaging the edges of the arm 141. A bolt 148 working in a slot 147 secures the two together. The shaft 142 also carries arms 151 to which are adjustably attached frames 152 carrying the comb 48. The forward ends of the frames rest on bowls 153 to secure a horizontal movement. The comb 48 is adjustably mounted on pivots 154 and secured by bolts 156. The pendulum arm 12 is loose on the shaft 13 and is adjustably clamped by screws 15 to a plate 14 fixed on the shaft, a bolt 12<1> working in a slot 14<1> securing the two parts together. The crank pin 10 is carried by a block 10<a> adjustable by a screw 9<b> along a housing 9<a> on the crank disc 9. The device may be applied to a single. sided or a double-sided machine.
