244,250. Nasmith, J. W. Nov. 25, 1924. Addition to 132,987. Combing-machines.-In an arrangement of the kind described in the parent Specification for mounting and operating the nipper, the pivot N on which the nipper frame is hung has imparted to it a slight oscillating movement at each stroke. The lever 3 carrying the pivot N has an arcuate bearing slot 4 embracing a headed stud 5. It is also connected through an adjustable rod 7 to a lever 9, 11 on a shaft 10. An adjustable stud 13 secured in a graduated slot 12 in the arm 11 is connected by a strap E to an eccentric X on the comb cylinder shaft C. A cam may replace the eccentric X to give an irregular movement.
