Abstract

Fastenings f or attache cases and the like; hasp fastenings. - The end of the handle c has a projection c<2> project. ing beyond the bearing a<2> and adapted to cooperate with the hasp or other fastening member to secure it against release. As shown, the fastening comprises a loop b pivoted to a member b<1> secured to the lid of the case, and adapted to engage a rectangular member a on the case body. The loop is cut away at a<3> so as to clear projection c<2> when the handle lies, against the case, Fig. 1, the projection engaging over the loop when the handle is raised, Fig. 2. A form is described in which the invention is applied to hasp fastenings of the kind in which the hasp has a loop passing through a slot into the lock casing and there engaged by a sliding bolt. The bearing member for the handle may be integral with one of the fastening members, as shown, or separate, and the invention may be applied to both ends of the handle.
