Feedwater, supplying.-The feedwater normally supplied to a boiler 17 by a pump 6 through heaters 7, 8 is partly by-passed when the supply is above the normal through a pipe containing a valve 9, which opens automatically upon the loss of water pressure between the inlet and outlet of the heaters exceeding a certain value. Each heater may have a separate by-pass and automatic valve. The by-pass and the automatic valves may be arranged inside the heaters. Specification 2097/00 is referred to.
