Condenser systems. - In a closed feedwater supply system for a steam power plant, the usual feed tank is replaced by a well a at or connected to the bottom of the condenser b, the capacity of the well being sufficient to accommodate accumulations of feedwater due to changes in the working conditions of the plant. A reserve feed tank h is connected to the top of the condenser by a pipe i and to the. pipe between the water extraction pump c and the feed pump d by a pipe m. When the water in the well is at the normal level corresponding to the usual conditions of working, a hand or float controlled valve j in the pipe i allows only the quantity of water required for make up to pass into the condenser. Two or more systems supplying a corresponding number of boilers may be connected to a common reserve feed tank. The systems are connected by valve controlled pipes between the feed pipes on the inlet and discharge sides of the water extraction pumps.
