Abstract

Clutches, positive and ratchet; facilitating changing speed.- In free-wheel clutch mechanism for motor, steam - driven, and like vehicles, the means for bidirectionally locking the clutch comprises pins or projections 10 disposed on a flange of the driven member 8 and adapted to engage holes in a collar 3, which is displaceable on a squared part of the driving- shaft 1 by a ring 4 connected to arm 5 on a rockshaft 6. The member 8 bears on the shaft 1 by bushes 12, between which it is formed with internal ratchet teeth to engage spring-pressed pawls 9.
