Abstract

308,541. Robertson, P. L. Aug. 9, 1928. Chucks.-A number of tools such as screwdriver bits, awls, reamers, &c. are held in a holder consisting of a cylindrical head 2 on a stem 1 and slotted at 4 to receive a number of tool bits 11 supported in the head by a U-shaped inner holder 6 having its sides 7 bevelled at 8 to engage the bevelled end 10 of a clamping sleeve 9 working on a screw thread 3. A projection 12 on the inner holder 6 supports the centre tool bit in working position. A modified form of holder 16, Fig. 7, has two slots 17 at right angles and is adapted to hold an inner holder enclosing five tools, as shown in Fig. 6.
