Abstract

491,705. Tool holders ; turning. JFANGER, E. March 4, 1938, No. 6884. [Class 83 (iii)] A lathe tool-holder, particularly for use in cutting screw threads, comprises two parts 3, 4, Fig. 2, respectively, one of which 4, is guided on the other to be longitudinally slidable thereon, and the other part having peripheral portions 6 which take the pressure of an enclosing split clamping member 1 (broken outline) when this member is clamped in a tool rest ; the other shank part 4 carrying the tool and being adjustable by means of a hand lever 4. The tool is particularly useful for putting on and taking off the cut in a screw threading operation, a thread cutting tool bit (not shown) being clamped by a member 7 to the shank part 4.
