Abstract

1408305 Boring heads O BAY 15 Sept 1972 [15 Sept 1971] 42975/72 Heading B3C A boring head has a head part 2 adapted to hold three cutting tools 6 wherein tool holders 4 are disposed in an offset arrangement in relation to one another in the axial direction of the head part, and the longitudinal axesof the tool holders are angularly spaced by more than 90 degrees. Preferably the angles are 100, 125 and 135 degrees in a cutting sequence and the cutters project different amounts radially. The tool holders are U-shaped members in dovetailed grooves 3, and are held by screws 15. The tools can be adjusted by a screw and a driver-neither shown-having a projection that fits into the slot 3 and engages the inner end of the shank 5. Screws 10 clamp the tools.
