Abstract

1455003 Screw driver-blades M ISKRA 22 Feb 1974 [15 March 1973] 12536/73 Heading B3N A screw driver blade comprises a shank portion 10 with a tip portion 12 formed as a transversely extending blade for engagement with a parallel sided slot in a screw head and a central spigot 14 extending beyond the blade tip and having a cross-section of greater width than said blade tip, for engagment with a corresponding axial guide bore in a screw. The spigot may be of cylindrical or square cross-section and the bore in the screw is of cylindrical cross-section to accommodate the blade spigot. The square section spigot may be slightly tapered and its size such that the corners of the square section engage the cylindrical wall of the guide bore to effect additional support between the screw and blade at the initiation of a screwing-up operation. The blade may be used with manual and power operated tools.
