Working-fluid supply.-In steam power plants, particularly steam turbines, the heating steam for the interstage superheater is of a higher pressure than the working steam of the high-pressure stage. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, steam generated in a main boiler a is superheated at b and supplied to a high-pressure turbine c from which it passes through an interstage superheater d to a low-pressure stage e. This superheater is heated by steam generated in a separate boiler f. It may be superheated at g. In the four-stage plant shown in Fig. 3, the first interstage heater d is heated as above described. A heater i between the stages e, l is heated by steam from the main boiler a, and a heater k between the final stages l, m is heated by the water of condensation from the first interstage superheater d. Pumps q, h, n, o return the condensates to the boilers.
