Abstract

Working-fluid supply.-In steam power plant working with high pressures and having fireheated intermediate superheaters, the intermediate superheater B and a part of the whole of the live steam superheater D are arranged in a furnace of their own separate from the boiler furnace A. The coils B are arranged in the hotter part of the furnace. The turbine C exhausts into a condenser K, the water being returned to the boiler by pumps L, N through a tapped-steam feed-water heater G, and a fluegas preheater E. The flue-gases may be utilized in an air preheater. The firing of the superheater furnace may be regulated in dependence on the load on the turbine, and on the temperature without disturbing the boiler. With partial loads, the final superheating stage may be cut out by hand or automatically, the pipe. coils being connected in parallel with the coils of the previous stage to prevent damage.
