Abstract

299,969. Mitchell, R. Sept. 28, 1927. Hay bogies.-A portable hay-rick lifter comprises two A-frames B mounted on wheels or rollers band connected at their upper ends by a beam C. A hay-rick is straddled by the appliance and prongs M are inserted under the rick. Ropes H connected to the prongs pass over guide pulleys F to a winch drum provided with a pulley 0 of larger diameter from which a second rope P passes over a guide pulley Q and is hauled on by a horse or other means to lift the rick. The winch may be fitted with gearing for operation by a handle or the like. The appliance with the lifted rick may be transported to any desired position.
