Abstract

230,727. Carthy, J. Sept. 10, 1924. Overhead supports.-A machine for lifting and transporting cocks of hay &c. comprises a frame consisting of three inclined bars connected together at the top and spread apart at the base, raising and lowering means connected to the top of the frame, and means for moving the frame over the ground. Two of the inclined bars 1 are provided with wheels 2 and the third 3 with a shoe or skid 4 and a draught appliance 12. The bars 1, 3 are braced by bars 13 arranged so that the frame may be placed over the cock to be lifted. The lifting-tackle is connected to an extension 8 of the bar 3 and consists of grappling- irons or hooked blades 6 adapted be pushed under the cock and to be raised by means of a rope 9 passing over sheaves 7 and a flexibly mounted pulley 10 and connected to a whipple-tree 15 or other operating means.
