Four-stroke-cycle engines.-In a radial-cylinder engine having an annular valve surrounding the engine and working over the cylinder heads as described in the parent Specification, either the cylinder or the valve (not shown) may be stationary, and the packing-member 17 is formed with vanes 17<b> which are acted on by inlet and outlet gases so as to oscillate the member about its axis. A further packing 17a is arranged to slide outside the part 16, and is presed outwards against the valve by springs 19<a> connected to the packing-shoes 21 referred to in the parent Specification.
