Abstract
190,718. Digonnet, T., and Grua, E. Dec. 24, 1921, [Convention date]. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Rotary cylindrical valves. - A rotary valve, having a central bore b for exhaust surrounded bv an annular space f for inlet, is formed at the centre with series of blades j, Figs. 4 and 5, shaped so as to deflect the mixture, which enters through the manifold G and peripheral ports o, through side ports o<1> in opposite directions along the space f. The inner surface of the bore b is provided with one or more sleeves g formed or a non- conductor of heat and shaped to form annular air spaces. The cylinder heads are fitted with packing-pieces comprising short tubes d arranged in recesses e, as shown at the righthand side of Fig. 1, and pressed against the valve by springs v and by oil or other fluid under pressure fed to the recesses e. A modified form of packing-piece is shown at the left-hand side of Fig. 1.
