Abstract

222,015. Dickerson, D. J. Jan. 7, 1924. Valves.-A rotarv inlet and exhaust valve comprises a solid cylindrical member A formed with cutaway ports 1 arranged to connect inlet and exhaust ports 8, 9 with cylinder ports 6, the portions of the valve adjacent and including the ports 1 being reduced in diameter so as to leave shoulders 12 on which are placed sleeves B formed with ports 3 corresponding to the ports 1, the annular spaces between the reduced portions of the valve and the inner surfaces B preventing overheating. Several sleeves B are arranged one over each cylinder, with their ends abutting. Grooves are formed in the shoulders 12 to receive packing-rings 13. The sleeves are formed with stepped slits 14, 15 at the ends.
