Cylinders, pipes for and arrangement of ports in.-To prevent unequal expansion of cylinders arranged in a block as shown in Fig. 1, the exhaust outlets E and the inlet passages D alternate with one another on both sides of the engine. In a modified construction, the inlet valves, and also the exhaust valves, are arranged at opposite ends of a diameter of the cylinder.
