Rotary cylindrical valves.-A rotary watercooled inlet and exhaust valve d for internalcombustion engines, having through ports and provided with ball bearings g and packing c, f, as described in Specification 21,333/09, is applied to a multi-cylinder engine. The valve and its casing extend across a series of cylinders cast en bloc, the valve having separate ports for each cylinder in suitable angular relation with one another. To prevent leakage from one cylinder to another the valve is fitted with packing-rings between the ports, or is formed with circumferential oil-grooves d<2> between the ports, and longitudinal grooves d<1> in advance of the ports. The valve and its casing may be made in sections secured together.
