295,913. Lanoux, H. H., and Dordonnat, G. R. P. March 6, 1928. Flexible diaphragm pumps.- A diaphragm pump operated by the pulsations of an internal combustion cylinder comprises a casing divided into a motor chamber and a pumping chamber by a pair of membranes 15, 16 clamped together at their rims and formed with apertures which do not coincide when the membranes are in contact, but allow free passage of air when they are separated. The air is drawn in through ports 5 controlled by a spring-pressed valve 6; part of the air flows through the stem 3 to the motor cylinder, the stem replacing the sparking-plugs ; the remainder flows through the two membranes, and is forced through the valve 11 to the tyre on the compression stroke.
