Abstract
270,654. Gamard, H. May 7, 1926, [Convention date]. Actuating by gas pressure; diaphragm and flexible chamber pumps.-A pump for washing motor cars, cleaning carpets, &c. and adapted to be operated by the pressure and suction in one of the engine cylinders comprises a chamber 1 divided into two parts 2, 3 by a pear-shaped flexible member 22. The chamber 2 communicates with the engine cylinder by a pipe 18 which replaces a sparking plug, and the chamber 3 is provided with suction and delivery valves 6, 7. A non-return valve 20 allows air to be drawn into the engine cylinder during the suction stroke. Several pumps may be operated by different cylinders to give a more regular delivery. An air vessel &c. may be provided on the delivery pipe. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) other forms are described comprising a chamber divided by a simple diaphragm or bv the tubular membrane shown in the original Fig. 2. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
