Abstract

256,407. Macleod, A. W. Aug. 25, 1925. Air, removing. - In pumps for delivering measured quantities of petrol &c., air is separated from the liquid in a vessel 1 arranged between the pump and measuring vessel, the liquid entering the vessel by a pipe 2 and leaving by a pipe 3, while the separated air escapes past a valve 6 to a vent pipe 11. The valve is kept open bv a spring 10 and is closed bv the liquid pressure if the liquid rises into the valve chamber. A small port 12 in the valve or a groove in the valve seat allows air to escape when the valve is closed. Specifications 1437/80 and 20951/90, [both in Class 123, Steam generators], are referred to.
