Abstract
202,145. Doulton, H. L., Corby, S. F., and Pleace, R. J. July 19, 1922. Waste-preventing valves. - A waterwaste e preventing valve of the kind described in Specification 184,214 is modified to avoid the use of a valve between the two water chambers. The casing is divided into chambers d, e by a partition f, the upper chamber containing a piston g, the stem of which is secured to a socket h sliding on a. projection j. A spring k tends to lift the piston. A piston p in the lower chamber controls the outlet r and is open to the inlet x. When the piston g is depressed, water is drawn by suction from the space e through the check valve u and passage t, and water is forced downwards through the by-pass s to the inlet passage. The piston p is thus lifted by the inlet pressure, and the valve remains open until the pressure water leaks past a valve w to the upper side of the piston.
