Abstract

214,138. Delas, F.X.J.A. July 16, 1923. Double-acting piston pumps; assisting suction. -A pump, particularly suitable for feeding a boiler with water at 100‹ C., comprises a cylinder 1 provided at each end with suction valves 11, 12 and delivery valves 7, 8, and at the middle with an inlet port 14 and a port 15 communicating with a pipe 16 provided wth a steam ejector 18 for increasing the suction in the cylinder. During the suction stroke of the piston 2 the hot water enters the cylinder through the suction valve 11 or 12, and at the end of the suction stroke the ports 14, 15 are uncovered and additional water enters by the port 14 to replace the vapour and air removed by the ejector.
