Abstract

403,180. Air-compressors. REA VELL, W., Ranelagh Works, Ipswich, Suffolk. Aug. 25, 1932, No. 23793. [Class 8 (i).] An air-compressor comprises pistons 2, 2a connected to cranks angularly disposed at 180‹ to one another. The cylinders are provided with suction and delivery valves 4, 4a and 5, 5a and the partition between the cylinders is provided with an unloading valve 7 loaded by a spring 8 and actuated by a piston 9 subjected directly to the delivery pressure of the compressor or to pressure from an air relay actuated by delivery pressure. The valve 7 connects the two cylinders.
