BalL and float valves - A ball or float valve for high or low pressures comprises a T-shaped casing A an inwardly-projecting tapered tubular seating C, a sliding plunger D with valve washer G and slot P, and a V-shaped actuating cam E in the slot and enclosed within the casing A. The float arm secured on a spindle projecting from the cam E is cranked over so as to bring the centre of the float into the plane of the axis of the valve plunger. A depending silencing pipe M is screwed to the discharge outlet, as shown. The drawing shows a skirt projecting from the plunger and partially enclosing the seating end of the tubular cone member C.
