Abstract

292,030. Cleaver, A., and Jackson & Son,. Ltd., C. Dec. 8, 1927. Pipe cutters.-In a wrench or pipe cutter of the kind comprising a body carrying a fixed jaw and a central screwed stem carrying the movable jaw and adjusted by a cylindrical nut member rotatably mounted in a tubular portion of the body part, the cylindrical nut member is held against longitudinal movement by local indentations in the wall of the body part engaging an annular recess in the nut member. The screwed stem 5 of the movable jaw member 4 which slides within the body 1 carrying the fixed jaw 2 is engaged by the reduced forward part 12 of the adjusting member 6, the cylindrical part 12 being held against longitudinal movement in the tubular portion 13 of the body 1 by small projections 15 pressed in the wall of the tubular body part so as to engage the annular recess 14 in the part 12.
