Abstract

619,826. Wrenches. ENGSTROM, E. Dec. 30, 1946, No. 38071. [Class 61 (iii)] A wrench used in the manner of a socket wrench but having one half of the socket adjustable towards the other half for gripping different sized nuts comprises a cross handle 1 and threaded stem 2 carrying a fixed jaw 5 and hollow body 7 with transverse guide grooves 8 to receive lateral flanges 9 on the adjustable jaw member 10 carrying the other jaw 6 which is actuated by means of a threaded sleeve 3 engaging the threaded stem 2 and having a flange 12 engaging a claw 13 on a rod 14 projecting through the wall 15 of the body 7 and terminating in an inclined groove 17 and projection 18 engaging an inclined flange 20 and groove 19 on a rearward extension of the jaw 6.
