Abstract
284,711. Mouzet, H. L. F., Hoveman, J. C., and Hoveman, C. R. Feb. 4, 1927. [Convention date]. Water-tube boilers.-A steam boiler heated by a gaseous liquid, or pulverulent fuel burner 2 comprises upper and lower drums 1, 3 connected by two concentric nests of tubes, the inner nest 4 being separated from the outer nest by a refractory partition 6 which causes the combustion gases to flow in an opposite direction to the water and steam. In one modified construction the lower drum is dispensed with, the inner nest of tubes being made continuous with the outer nest. In another modified construction the outer nest of tubes lead from an auxiliary outer drum which surrounds the drum 1 and is connected to it by a few large pipes.
