543,987. Water-tube steam boilers; steam superheaters. SUPERHEATER CO., Ltd. Sept. 20, 1940, No. 14395. Convention date, Nov. 1, 1939. [Classes 123 (ii) and 123 (iii)] A boiler having a vertical bank of tubes 12 connected to upper and lower drums 10, 11 is fired by two separate furnaces 14, 15 with water-tube walls, and the furnaces are separated by a tube wall 20 with space tubes at its upper end to direct the gases from the furnace 14, after heating a secondary superheater 24, directly to the inlet of the gas pass containing the tube bank 12, where they mix with the gases passing from the furnace 15 after heating a primary superheater 21. The superheat is controlled by regulating the proportionate amounts of fuel burned in the two furnaces. Specifications 371,244 and 373,844 and French Specification 643,712 are referred to.
