Abstract
244,465. Kohlenscheidungs-Ges. Dec. 11, 1924, [Convention date]. Addition to 241,573. Pulverulent-fuel furnaces. - In the boiler described in the parent Specification, an economizer and air-preheater are so arranged in the flues that they form heat-absorbing means between the outer wall of the setting and the more highly heated portions of the side walls of the combustion chamber. The gases from the water-tube boiler d pass downwardly through an economizer s and an air pre-heater r. placed in the flues. Additional air for combustion is supplied through openings o in the hollow end walls of the combustion chamber. The flues are so shaped that the direction of flow of the gases is changed in their passage between the heaters. The bottom of the flues is formed as an ash hopper t. The water-tubes g of the screen at the bottom of the combustion chamber open into headers h, i connected to the boiler drums by tubes k, l.
