Abstract

294,685. Wood, W. R. April 28, 1927. Priming, preventing.-A boiler steam drum 12 is extended beyond the generating tubes 4, 6 and is fitted with transverse baffles 21 arranged like louvre slats through which the steam passes in a downward direction into the drum extensions before entering the steam outlet pipe 22. The tubes 4, 6 form the walls of the boiler furnace, and the steam drum is connected to a lower drum by downcomers 15 outside the furnace.
