Multitubular boilers. - Lancashire or like boilers having furnace flues a are converted into gas-fired boilers by the provision of small diameter fine-tubes b within the flue, the tubes being expanded into a dished or flat plate d at the front and back of the boiler. Holes c cut in the flue wall provide for circulation of water round the fire-tubes. To facilitate removal of the tubes for cleaning one of the plates d may be so shaped as to pass through the flue.
