Abstract

Long-arms.-A long-arm is provided with depending spring clips D<1> to withdraw oil bottles from the bearings of shafts at a height or for other purposes, to refil and replace them, a spring plunger P being operated through a Bowden wire and handle lever to force the bottle stem into the oii hole while the spring clips are being withdrawn. The device is also provided with a lamp lit from a battery E on the handle, contact being completed when the Bowden cable lever B<1> is depressed to E<2>. One side of the circuit is earthed through the Bowden cable and metal fittings, the conductor and cable being inside the tubular handle. An adjustable mirror is also provided to assist in locating the bottle. Pneumatio means may replace the Bowden cable mechanism. The spring clips D' may be closed by being attached to the movable plunger and by being drawn through a cone socket.
