240,593. Oelwerke Stern-Sonneborn Akt.-Ges., and Duffing, G. Aug. 5, 1924. Lubricant conveyed by mechanical means; straining lubricant.-Lubricant is supplied to a vehicle axle h by a roller a mounted at one end of a forked lever b pivoted at d, the other end of the lever having fixed thereto one end of a leaf spring f of which the other end is adapted to slide on the bottom of a casing c carrying the lubricating device, the arrangement being such that the point of contact g moves to the left or right as the roller a moves up or down, so that the pressure between the roller and the axle is maintained substantially constant. The casing r has strainer holes in its walls, and is pivoted at n, Fig. 3, on a plate e. To insert the device into the axle box, the casing c is rocked down into the horizontal position. Push rods q pivoted to the casing at p strike against the rear wall r of the axle box and cause the casing to be rocked into operative position.
