Feeding webs.-In a cloth-expander of the kind comprising a roller fitted with longitudinal bars a which receive an endwise movement by engagement with fixed cams, the sliding surfaces are lubricated by solid lubricant such as plugs e of graphite. Instead of using plugs, the lubricrant may be arranged in the sliding surfaces, or may be forced by a spring from a chamber through fine holes leading to the surfaces.
