Abstract
277,397. Loewe, S. March 17, 1926. Thermionic amplifiers; signalling to and from aircraft.-In order to eliminate microphonic noise due to vibration, particularly on an aeroplane, one or more high-frequency valve amplifiers are coupled to a carborundum detector through an intermediate high-frequency circuit. Low-frequency disturbances originating in the valves are thus shut out from the telephones. As shown in the Figure, two four-electrode amplifiers 6, 21, 7, 8 and 18, 22, 19, 20, coupled by a high-resistance 23, are contained within a single evacuated bulb 17. The output is fed through a high-frequence transformer 10 to a tuned circuit 11, 12, coupled in turn to a crystal detector 14. A twoelectrode valve may replace the crystal rectifier.
