Cam-actuated revolving - cylinder pumps. -A steam or two- or four-stroke-cycle internal-combustion engine or pump is provided with a rotary block 1 containing a number of tangential cylinders 2 having pistons 5 which are rigid with rods 6 carrying crossheads which have curved surfaces 7<11> sliding on guides 10. Pins 7<1> pass through the crossheads and carry blocks 9, which engage stationary cam grooves 11 of elliptical or polycentral form. The pressure fluid is controlled by inlet and outlet lift valves, arranged in the cylinder ends and actuated by independent, adjustable, normally-stationary cams on the casing.
