371,653. Rotary engines. EYNARD, A., Quai Merilhou, Montignac, Dordogne, France. June 4, 1931, No. 16232. Convention date, June 25, 1930. [Class 110 (ii).] A rotary steam engine comprises a wheel 9 carrying two or more blades 4<1>, 4<2>, which move around a concentric, torus-shaped chamber which is divided up into three, or more, sectors by outwardly-sliding abutments 5<1>, 5<2>, 5<3>. Steam is admitted to the working chamber through ports 15<1>, 15<2>, 15<3>, and exhausted through ports 16<1>, 16<2>, 163. Arcs 10<1>, 10<2>, which are concentric with the chamber, bear on pins 11<1>, 11<2>, 11<3>, to open the inlet cocks, and curved blocks 13<1>, 13<2>, which are displaced axially on the arcs, turn pins 12<1>, 12<2>, 12<3>, to open each exhaust port at the end of a piston stroke. The abutments are lifted by steam pressure acting on pistons 6<1>, 6<2>, 63, and returned to closed.position by springs 81, 8<2>, 8<3>, after each piston has passed.
