Transformers. - A single-phase transformer comprises a core having three or a larger odd number of limbs over which the windings are distributed. Tn order that the wound limbs a, b, c may be made of similar cross-section, additional unwound limbs d, e may be provided at the ends. To obtain a favourable flux distribution when the main windings on the individual limbs are not connected in parallel, equipotential windings may be provided on the wound limbs.
