An annular flange a<2> may be provided on the plate a for strengthening purposes and the shallowness of the air chamber behind the diaphragm q gives improved acoustic effects. A rotary switch l may also be provided having an arm k, Fig. 4, adapted to short-circuit ramp providing contact springs n, Fig. 5, mounted on an insulating disc o the ends of the springs n being adapted to make connection with the ends of the windings of the electromagnets g.
