Abstract

269,986. British Lighting & Ignition Co., Ltd., and Hutton, J. C. Jan. 29, 1926. Magneto - electric machines; inductor machines. -The stationary armature core of an ignition magneto having a rotating magnet or inductors is provided with coil cheeks of moulded insulating material which serve to clamp the core to the armature pole-shoes. The limbs A<1> of the core A taper from the surface B which abuts against the pole-shoes, and the laminae are held in place by the coil cheeks D, and, if necessary, by means of rivets C. The coil cheeks mav be moulded in situ or applied separately, and are formed with flanges E through which pass screws H which secure the structure to the pole-shoes. Extension pieces F are provided to which the condenser is clamped and at the other side of the coil an arcuate contact plate G is held between the coil cheeks and serves to make connection with the distributor.
