Abstract

19,601. Fuller, G., and Moore, B. J. Aug. 26. Transformers.-Self-contained magneto ignition apparatus such as is described in Specification 17,601/06, is adapted for dual ignition by adding to the magneto structure a distributing - device which enables the battery or magneto to be readily connected up. The arrangement of parts is shown in Fig. 2. The coil 1 and condenser 4 are within the magnets, and the primary windings of the coil are connected by studs 30, 32 to a plate 25 on the distributing-device 13, and to the frame of the apparatus respectively. The device 13 consists of a disk of insulating-material provided with plates 23, 25, &c., and is secured to a plate 33 bolted to the magneto frame. A plate 35, adjustable on the plate 33, carries the contactbreaker 8 actuated by projections 40 on the armature shaft. The plate 23 on the device 13 is connected to the contact-breaker through a bolt 37 and strip 38. Another plate on the device 13 is connected to the armature winding through a tube 36 and spring arm 7. A casing 42 encloses the parts.
