Abstract

253,484. Soc. d'Applications et de Fabrications Industrielles S.A.F.I. June 12, 1925, [Convention date]. Magneto-electric machines.-A flywheel magneto for an internal-combustion engine of the type in which the magnet surrounds the armature comprises one or more fixed armatures 3, Fig. 1, a segmental or other rotary magnet 1, 2, and fixed magnetic blocks 4 for completing the magnetic circuit. Ignition and lighting currents may be obtained from the magneto. In a modification, Fig. 3, the armature structure comprises a core 13 carrying the primary and secondary windings 5, 6, and having at one end a poleshoe 17 and at the other end a pair of lateral branches carrying pole-pieces 18, 19. The lateral branches and the pole-pieces 17 are arranged in parallel planes perpendicular to the radial core 13 According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3 (a) the armature may be outside the field magnet. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
