Abstract

238,508. Soc. d'Applications et de Fabrications Industrielles Safi. Aug. 14, 1924, [Convention date]. Magneto-electric machines.-In a flv-wheel magneto a permanent magnet 1 in the form of an interrupted ring with pole-pieces 2, 3 rotates about a core 4 provided with primary winding 5 and a secondary winding which may be single or in two portions 7, 8 as shown, the two ends of the winding being in each case brought out so that they can be connected to two sparking plugs to yield simultaneous sparks. The ring may be replaced by two magnets. Specification 137,855 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes the make-and-break device shown in Fig. 5 (Cancelled), fitting the apparatus to serve both for lighting and ignition. A cam 21 acts on a lever 22 and for the greater part of the revolution keeps a contact 18 closed for the lighting current, but during the rest makes and breaks a contact 17 for the ignition. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
