Abstract
150,273. PickÚe, D. J. Aug. 16, 1919, [Convention date]. Magneto-electric machines. - The permanent magnets of magnetos for internal-combustion engines of the rotating fly-wheel magnet type are constructed from sheet steel segments and form a smooth rotatable fly-wheel bodv of circular contour and symmetrically disposed relatively to the two main axes through the pole pieces. In the four-polar example shown, the segments a at the pole-ends b overlap and are closely superimposed and firmly secured together, whilst the connecting- parts of the segments have air spaces c between them equal to the thickness of the plates.
