Abstract

264,150. McClintock, H. R. Jan. 5; 1926, [Convention date]. Parachutes.-The pull ring 21 for disengaging the rip cord or pull wire 28 from the locking cones 14, 25 is connected to a tape &c. 19 which passes under one or more folds of the parachute and is connected at the other end to the cone 14, which fits loosely in a grommet in the pack. When the ring is pulled the closing flap 9 is opened and a portion of the parachute is ejected by the tape, which then becomes detached from thepack and can be thrown away.
