Abstract

264,100. Muller, P. H. Sept. 28, 1926. Surface condensers; combined surface and jet condensers. - Water of condensation is withdrawn from a well a of a surface condenser by a water-jet ejector d which discharges it through a perforated pipe h on to a trough i in the steam space of the condenser. The water, heated to steam temperature and freed from air, passes from the trough i to a vertical pipe k and is drawn off by a rotary pump f. Part of the discharge from the pump is passed through a branch pipe e to operate the ejector d.
